May 2021
In May 2021, our client was involved in a T-bone collision caused by Defendant Driver who was working at the time of the occurrence and was driving a commercial vehicle owned and insured by his employer. Our client did not have a stop sign. Defendant Driver approached the stop sign and, without yielding the right of way, continued traveling through the intersection and caused a T-bone collision. At the scene, Defendant Driver admitted to drinking two beers before the collision. Defendant Driver received a citation for violation of 625 ILCS 5/11-904, failure to yield the right of way.
Our client suffered a right-foot crush injury, consisting of extensive fractures of the cuboid, navicular, talar, and calcaneus bones. These fractures caused instability of the right foot requiring initial external fixation and eventual internal fixation. In addition, he sustained associated nerve injuries in his right foot as well. The case settled at mediation for $2,015,000.00.

January 2021
On the evening of January 3, 2021, our client was at a residential property in the northwest suburbs of Chicago when he went to retrieve the Defendant Homeowner’s dog from the dog run in the backyard. The outdoor deck and deck stairs were covered in ice and had been recently shoveled by the Defendant Homeowner. It was dark outside and the only outdoor light that emits light onto the deck was not functioning. Our client slipped and fell on the deck stairs and dislocated and twisted his left leg in the process. Our client suffered a left quadricep tendon rupture which required emergent surgical repair.
After 18 months of litigation, the case was resolved for $240,000.00.
